What WageDesk is
WageDesk runs HR and payroll for small South African employers entirely over WhatsApp. Payslips, leave, overtime, salary advances and the statutory records all happen in a chat, on both sides.
The employer manages from WhatsApp or a web dashboard. The staff member uses WhatsApp only, which is the point: no app to install, no account to create, and it works on the phone they already carry.

Founder
WageDesk is built and run by Wayne Gevers, a South African helicopter pilot based in the UAE, who learned to code in 2026 and wrote the platform alone. Available for interview, remotely or in studio when in South Africa. UAE time is two hours ahead of South Africa, so South African morning slots work well.
